Protecting Iowa

As your Senate representative to DC, I will 100% work to protect Iowa’s 9th & 10th Amendment Rights:

It is the 9th and 10th Amendment that inspired Iowa’s State Motto; “Our Liberties We Prize And Our Rights We Will Maintain“:

Amendment IX – People retain Rights not enumerated
Ratified 15 December 1791
The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

 

Amendment X – Powers of the States and People
Ratified 15 December 1791
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

As we look around at many of the issues that impact Iowa, we can see that the Federal Government has undue and unconstitutional influence over both our Individual and State’s Rights.

Violations such as CDC entering binding contracts with school boards to attempt to inflict mask/vaxx mandates on our children. The Department of Education working in collusion with teachers union to indoctrinate our children. Implementing windmills, solar panel farms, Renewable Fuel Standards (RFS) and now a CO2 pipeline over the objections of Iowans forced to subsidize these boondoggles. Federal courts overriding Iowa’s efforts to restrict the unborn’s right to life.

The common denominator in all of these abuses are federal monies overriding and subverting Iowa’s right to determine their application of the unenumerated powers and rights.

Protecting The Preborn

  • Roe v Wade was an usurpation of State’s right to decide their position on abortion by the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS).
  • SCOTUS originally allowed abortions to be performed only in the first trimester, however, continuous litigation by Planned Parenthood and allies have expanded the window of opportunity to destroy babies right up to the point of birth.
  • The debate deflects from the individuality of the baby by focusing on the so-called “rights” of the woman and diminishes the baby as a “clump of parasitic cells”.
    • If a fetus is just a clump of  cells and not a human being, why do we have prison terms and massive fines to protect the clump of cells referred to as sea-turtle or eagle eggs?
  • Modern science ignores the fact that the preborn are sentient and can feel pain.

What If School Could Be Different

Ending Indoctrination

  • Contrary to Hillary Clinton’s “it takes a village to raise a child”, parents have the unalienable right to train and raise their children according to their beliefs and convictions.
  • As noted by FDR, there is an inherent conflict of interest in allowing unions to represent public employees and servants.  This is manifested by subversive teachers promoting gender dysphoria, pornography, racism and worse in the classroom.
  • Ending the Department of Education, promoting school choice and portability of federal and state funding for education is essential to quality of life.
  • Parents must have flexibility in school choice, whether it be homeschooling, pods, private, charter or public, to include 2 years of community college or vocational school.
  • Enable students to sue colleges and universities for full refund of their tuition and expenses if their degree fails to advance their career after 5 years.

Ending Medical Tyranny

  • The “Right to Try” is a core aspect of the Individual’s right to determine his/her quality of healthcare and bodily autonomy. This shall not be limited to last resort options.
  • Beef up informed voluntary consent, violations will be treated as crimes against humanity per Nuremberg Code, without statute of limitations.
  • ‘Sick until proven healthy’ is no less tyrannical than ‘guilty until proven innocent’.
  • While limited quarantines are constitutional, any vaccine mandates are unconstitutional.
  • The right to freely share and discuss alternatives to established or conventional protocols. In the end, the individual retains the right to ultimately determine what is best for their quality of life.
  • Dismantle federal health agencies, they are unconstitutional.
  • Hold Big Pharma accountable for repairing the damaged
  • Hold Government & Military Leadership accountable for ignoring established law and enforcing unlawful orders
  • Granting liability waivers for drugs is unconstitutional. The liability status must be part of the informed consent.

The Subsidy Wedge

Ending Subsidies

  • The growth of alternative, but ineffective, energy and now the CO2 pipeline has distorted Iowa’s economy and environment driven by the “consensus of scientists” who do not hesitate to hide inconvenient truths in pursuit of grants and subsidies.
    • Subsidies create a “wedge” of wasted resources and is always a hidden tax on the “good” being supplied. And when one is not the consumer of that good, you have essentially given your hard-earned dollars to that consumer to save on his/her purchase and for the producer to guarantee their profit.
  • The notion of “unapproved speech” or “science denier” is repugnant to the 1st Amendment. Every American has the unalienable right to think, speak, associate with whomever and worship as he or she wills. And may act accordingly as long as it does not infringe upon another person’s rights.
  • Government subsidies are a political instrument, that takes the taxpayers money to help to create or sustain an economic venture which would otherwise not happen or falter, and are often used as a ‘stimulus’ in order to speed up a government promoted development.
  • Government lacks the incentives to manage funds that private investors have.
  • Giving subsidies to some businesses puts other businesses that do not receive such subsidies at a disadvantage, distorting investment and other economic activity.
  • The existence of government subsidies increases the incentive to lobby and the power of special interests, at the expense of consumers & taxpayers with deletrois effect on the economy and or environment.
    • Case in point, bio-fuel subsidies, have led to agricultural single crop wastelands  and rising food prices because of the higher profit margins.
  • Subsidized firms get an unfair competitive advantage over firms that do not receive a government subsidy, and policymakers, instead of the market, pick winners and losers.
